Go Lead Idaho

Motivating women to lead and demonstrating why it matters

February 18, 2026 By gliboard

An Update from Our President

Over the past several months, our Board has been engaged in a thoughtful mission and vision realignment process. When Go Lead Idaho was founded, it was built by an incredible group of women leaders (many of whom continue to serve our community today) to create a space to motivate women to lead and to demonstrate why it matters. As our organization, community, and Board continue to evolve, we wanted to ensure we are honoring that legacy while also creating space to grow, adapt, and meet the moment ahead.

Throughout this process, we kept coming back to the same foundation —that the true strength of this organization lies in women empowering one another and building genuine community. To us this looks like — learning together, supporting one another, and building momentum both individually and collectively.

We also had meaningful conversations about leadership — what it looks like, how it shows up, and what it truly means. What stood out most was how leadership shows up in each of our lives and in the various ways that it does. We lead in our workplaces, on boards, in our communities, at home, and in countless other ways. Leadership isn’t one-size-fits-all — and every form of it matters. Our goal is for women to see themselves as leaders exactly where they are today and feel supported wherever their journey takes them. When we expand how we define leadership and believe it in one another, that confidence carries forward — and together, that becomes powerful.

With that, I’m excited to share our new mission and vision before we release them more broadly:

Revised Mission
Empowering women to lead together by creating opportunities, building community, and redefining leadership.

Revised Vision
We envision an Idaho where women leaders connect, inspire, and learn from one another.

Reflecting on the Past Year

Serving as Board President this past year has been an incredible experience. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside a thoughtful, engaged, and passionate Board as we’ve focused on strengthening our foundation and positioning the organization for both long-term impact & success. This work has required reflection, collaboration, and shared commitment — and I’m deeply grateful for the leadership and dedication of our Board members.

We hope this next chapter is impactful for our current members and continues to inspire new women to join the Go Lead Idaho community. Thank you for being part of this journey — your leadership, support, and commitment are what make this organization thrive.

Sincerely,

Sierra White

Go Lead Idaho Board Members

Are you passionate about motivating women to lead and demonstrating why it matters? Are you committed to sharing your time and talents to make our community a better place? Then you may be interested in becoming more involved with Go Lead Idaho! Go Lead Idaho is currently looking for board members and is now accepting applications!

“Serving on a non-profit board is not only a wonderful way to support a cause, but it also can be a powerful way to build your own skills and expertise. Individuals who serve on a board have the opportunity to develop and grow as leaders, cultivate new skill sets, and expand their network of peers, professionals, and community leaders.” – Board Source

The board typically meets once a month for a one-hour meeting, either in person or via conference call. The meetings are usually in the early evening or over the lunch hour. We have a variety of committees that work on membership, events, and communication. In addition to our monthly networking events, we also have a training series and host an annual gala. Our goal is for board members to stay actively involved in the planning of events, which are then carried out with the help of the Go Lead Idaho staff.

Board members serve a two-year term, with a maximum of three consecutive terms. This is a volunteer board position. If you are interested in becoming a Go Lead Idaho board member, please fill out an application for consideration before December 31, 2017. Thank you!
