City of Meridian seeking Planning & Zoning Commissioner

The City of Meridian is looking for someone to fill a vacancy on its Planning and Zoning Commission. This five-person commission serves an advisory role to the Meridian City Council in matters relating to land use, zoning, transportation, and housing issues as framed by Meridian’s Comprehensive Plan.

The current recruitment is for applicants from the City of Meridian’s Area of Impact. Applicants must have lived in Ada County for two years and within the Area of Impact for at least one year. To view a map of the City of Meridian and its Area of Impact, visit www.meridiancity.org.

Commissioners are required to remain a resident during their six year term of service. The Planning and Zoning Commission meets the first and third Thursday of every month in the evening at 7:00 pm at Meridian City Hall. Members are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by a majority vote of the City Council.

Latest Opportunity: Ada County Air Quality Board & Community Guardian Program

More than anything, Go Leaders ask how they can get involved.  If you live in Ada County, now is your chance.  Ada County is looking for two community volunteers to serve on the Air Quality Board and the Community Guardian Program.  Monthly meetings and Ada County residency are requisites for both positions. Ada County Historic Preservation Council

The Board of Ada County Commissioners is seeking a volunteer to serve on the Ada County Historic Preservation Council.  Applicants should be individuals interested in local history, either personally or professionally and be willing to serve for a term of three (3) years.  Professional experience  in the disciplines of architecture, history, architectural history, planning, archaeology, or other historic preservation-related discipline is desired, but not required.  More Information
